Privacy Policy

This policy explains what BoardGrid stores about you, why, and what control you have over it. We keep it to the minimum needed to run a board game group hub — we do not sell your data or run advertising.
What we collect
- •Account details: your email address, display name and chosen avatar.
- •Group activity: the groups you belong to, your role, meetups, RSVPs, votes and comments.
- •Collection data: the games you add or import, including player counts, playing times, complexity, ratings and play counts.
- •Play history: sessions you log — games, dates, players, scores, teams and notes.
- •Technical data: basic logs and usage events needed to keep the service running and secure.
Why we use it
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
- •To give you an account and keep it secure.
- •To show your groups their shared shelf, meetups, votes and stats.
- •To calculate the statistics and trends on your dashboard.
- •To send you service email such as password resets and group notifications.
- •To diagnose faults and improve the app.
Who can see your data
Members of a group you belong to can see your display name, avatar, collection, RSVPs, votes, logged plays and comments within that group. Your email address is not shown to other members.
Your collection is not published to the open web. If an organiser lists a group publicly, only the group name, description and location appear in the group search — never member details or games.
Service providers
BoardGrid runs on the Base44 platform, which provides hosting, database, authentication and email delivery on our behalf. Data may be processed by these providers strictly for those purposes. If you import a BoardGameGeek export, we only read the file you upload — we do not access your BoardGameGeek account.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and collection. Shared group records such as logged plays and comments may remain in the group history, as they form part of other members’ records too.
Your rights

- •Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- •Correct anything inaccurate — you can edit your profile and collection yourself at any time.
- •Delete your account and personal data.
- •Object to or restrict how we process your data.
- •Complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies and storage
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Children
BoardGrid is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
