Terms of Service

1. What BoardGrid is

BoardGrid is a hobby service that helps board game groups digitise their collections, organise meetups, vote on games and record play history. It is provided as-is, free of charge, and is not affiliated with BoardGameGeek or any game publisher.

2. Your account

• •You must give accurate details when signing up and keep your login secure.
• •You are responsible for everything done through your account.
• •You must be old enough to consent to an online account in your country (at least 16 in most of Europe), or have a parent or guardian set it up for you.
• •You can delete your account at any time by contacting us.

3. Groups and shared content

When you join a group, the other members of that group can see your display name, avatar, the games in your collection, your RSVPs, votes, logged plays, scores and comments. Organisers can additionally manage group details, members and meetups.

Only list a group publicly, or add content to a group, if you are happy for the people in it to see it.

4. Acceptable use

We may suspend or remove accounts, groups or content that break these rules.

• •Be civil — no harassment, hate speech, threats or abuse towards other members.
• •Do not upload unlawful, infringing or malicious content.
• •Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or access data belonging to groups you are not a member of.
• •Do not use BoardGrid to send spam or unsolicited marketing to other members.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you add — your collection data, notes, comments and play logs. You grant us permission to store, display and process it as needed to run the service for you and your groups.

Game titles, artwork, rules and other publisher material remain the property of their respective owners. Data you import from BoardGameGeek remains subject to their terms.

6. Availability and no warranty

BoardGrid is offered without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and features may change or be withdrawn. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose — for example your original BoardGameGeek export.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or loss arising from your use of BoardGrid or from arrangements you make with other members. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Meetups happen in the real world

BoardGrid only helps you organise. We do not arrange, supervise or vet meetups, venues or members. Use ordinary common sense when meeting people, and take responsibility for your own safety and belongings.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use BoardGrid means you accept the current version.
